We really appreciated learning about the oysters in the Matanzas river and loved seeing the dolphins hunting in the shallows with a few pelicans standing by for leftovers. This was our first experience kayaking and our tour guide was very helpful by explaining everything we needed to know prior to boarding our kayak for two. Extremely knowledgeable with great conversation regarding the past and the future of Dancing Dolphins Oyster Trail. We saw sharks, turtles, fish jumping out of the water, and several species of birds.

Kayaking with Ben was the most fun and educational excursion we had the joy of experiencing! Not only did he keep us safe and helped us hone our kayaking skills but we learned so much about the surrounding vegetation and conservation efforts in the area. Super sweet and knowledgeable guy! The views on the Matanzas River were incredible as well.

We are here in Saint Augustine for a month and this was the most wonderful experience of our trip. We had a kayak tour with Ben of GeoTrippin in the Matanzas estuary. We have had several Eco excursions over the years and Ben is one of the most amazing guides we have ever encountered. His breadth and depth of knowledge about wetlands is nothing less than a tour de force. We learned from him how critical wetlands are to the balance of the entire ecosystem, including protections against hurricanes, floods, and can help to mitigate climate change. Ben was very personable and patient, teaching us kayaking techniques. We saw and learned much about the wildlife in the estuary. Particularly refreshing though was Ben's positive attitude, teaching us how much IS already being done to preserve and restore wetlands. He instilled in us a refreshing sense of optimism in current efforts to reverse and accelerate repair of damages to the environment. At a time of dark feelings and despair in our country, we were buoyed by his postivity about the future--where voices like his might lead us towards healing our planet.

Ben was a terrific nature guide, so knowledgeable in the ecosystem we were exploring. I was nervous about kayaking as I’m not an athlete, but Ben explained the process so well, and the tandem kayak I shared with my husband was a very comfortable experience. There were jumping schools of fish, oysters, and fiddler crabs by the bunches! This was a highlight of our vacation, don’t miss the Geotrippin experience!

WoW! We had an amazing experience on our kayaking adventure with Ben! Our little group had fun people for sure. We swam over oyster beds, watched fish jump and disrupt the beautiful still waters, saw an array of birds fly away in the sunset from places they barely could be seen, and saved lives (my friend ended up in the water somehow within 5min..Ben was great at guiding her back into her kayak swiftly and safely! lol) all as he refreshed our minds on the education of the wetlands in Florida. Absolutely amazing! Who knew this tiny amazing bioluminescent creatures were just below the water surface and soy to catch, see and touch!! Our guides, Max & Caleb, made it so much fun and informative! Definitely would do this again! The smaller children in our group were gasping with excitement!!

Ben was an excellent guide. He let us know ahead of time that the bioluminescent comb jellies weren't active so we rescheduled for the sunset tour. We only kayaked around Guana Lake so the trip itself was a little lame but Ben did an awesome job explaining the local ecosystem and answering numerous questions.

Ben did an excellent job of preparing us for paddling our kayaks on the Mantanza River and estauries explaining how the tides would affect us and proper paddling techniques. Is is very knowledgable of how the osyter beds, sea grass and mangroves support the ecological environment as well as the history of St. Augustine. We saw 4-5 dolphins and briefly the snout of a manatee as well as egrets, herons, comerants and osprey. It was an enjoyable excurison.

What an AMAZING experience. Went out for my birthday with my sister and friends, I couldn't have asked for a better time. Ben was extremely knowledgeable and gave us so many fun facts. You can tell he really loves what he does and he really puts his all into it. We swam over oyster beds, through grass mazes, saw dolphins, sea turtles, bald eagles, ospreys and flying fish. I can not wait to go back and do this again. We also enjoyed a great spot near by for appetizers and drinks, Salt water cowboys. Can not recommend this enough. Ben was lots of fun!

We had to cancel last minute due to a family emergency. Literally last minute. We were sitting on the shore waiting to go. Our guide was very understanding. The meeting place was Genung's fish camp. Not only would I recommend Ben as a guide, I would recommend the fish camp and bait shop as well. Before we had to run, we were able to see dolphins swimming right off shore.

We had two excellent kayaking tours - one with Ben & one with Ben & Gilly. We learned a ton about the area, wetlands impact, and the nature surrounding us. The kayaking was just the right amount of challenge & the sights were excellent. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area!

What a great way to learn about the Matanza River Basin. We spent time learning about salt marshes, mangroves, birds, sea turtles, and the ecology of the area. Ben is awesome with an encyclopedic knowledge of the area. This is a must do adventure. We'll be back for the bioluminescence tour.

Guided 2hr Kayak Tour with Max was amazing. We saw manatee, dolphins, sea turtles, stingray, oyster beds, and a multitude of birds. Max was extremely knowledgeable, fun, helpful, just the perfect guide! The adventure was extremely memorable. A must do !

We had a great time kayaking on the river. It was nice to show my daughters the different marine life and talk about the history of the area. Tim did a terrific job leading us through the different spots and sharing stories about the plants and animals we saw. Just wish he could have arranged for dolphin to swim by us :).

My husband and I had a great time on Guana Lake with Max. Max shared a lot of information and gave a lot of insight about St. Augustine on our first trip to the area. The comb jellies did not disappoint and neither did the mullet! Hope to come back later in the summer to see even more bioluminescence activity at the lake!

Great adventure on the night kayaking tour to experience the luminescent comb jellies. Max and Hayden were excellent guides. Fun experience, glad we did this on our mini vacation to St Augustine.

I kayaked in Guana Lake on a moonless night in March and witnessed bioluminescence in the water. There were fireflies in the woods. The guide, Ben, explained the nature of the estuary in relation to the planet. He showed us meandering streams and shared stories from history of human gathering, food industry, and vanishing culture, all within the sound of our voice hundreds of years ago.

Went out with Ben, brought my wife and son with me. My sons 12 and has a severe lack of communication skills, to put it simple. Ben was awesome, he had my son interested in the animals, as well as the mangrove trees. Which now he wont stop talking about lol. Extremely knowledgeable, and patient with the entire group. Definitely will be back

Ethan was our guide on our kayak tour and he did an amazing job. We had picture perfect weather and he led us through the tidal grasses where we saw blue heron, osprey, pelicans and many more birds. We saw several dolphin as well throughout our 2 hour excursion. Ethan was a wealth of knowledge regarding the inter coastal and its benefits to our area. Highly recommend to anyone interested in the nature we are surrounded by.

Signed up for Mantanzas River guided tour. Got a text from Ben, the owner, the morning of my trip to advise me the heavy wind that day would make things challenging and he wanted to see if I would still be comfortable padding in those conditions. Rather than cancelling, he offered me the option of heading inland to paddle on Deep Creek in Hastings, about a 20 minute drive inland. So glad I took him up on it! The Creek had a very gentle flow so was easy to paddle. It meandered through a quiet and beautiful cabbage palm and live oak forest. Ben shared lots of fascinating information about local environmental challenges and was an expert guide, leading me through some interesting twists and turns around fallen trees, and even offered me some great tips for improving my paddling technique! Spotted a number of birds, lots of good-sized jumping fish, turtles, and a small gator sunning near a log. Ben assured me there were other gators lurking underwater, which added to the "other-worldiness" of the place! Would happily recommend Ben and his company and look forward to paddling with him next time I visit St. Augustine.

We had a great time kayaking even our children. It was very peaceful and relaxing. Our guide was very knowledgeable of the history and the nature of the area we attended. We had to take a break due to the possibility of inclement weather but the guide stayed on top of where the storm was and made sure we stayed safe.
